Felony Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at approximately 10:30 a.m., James R. Serda, age 41 of Madisonville, KY, turned himself in at the Hopkins County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Serda had been wanted by the Kentucky State Police since August of 2009. On August 14, 2009, officers conducted a roundup in Hopkins County. Those arrests were the result of a year-long investigation by Trooper First Class John Komar pertaining to the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine. Trooper First Class John Komar charged Mr. Serda with Engaging in Organized Crime-Criminal Syndicate (B Felony) and Unlawful Distribution of a Meth Precursor (D Felony). Mr. Serda was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. Mr. Serda was one of twenty-seven individuals charged by Trooper First Class Komar.
