Prisoner Escapes While in Custody

Madisonville, Ky. (Hopkins County) -- On Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at approximately 12:47 a.m. CST, Trooper Brandon McPherson arrested John M. Crawford at a residence on Pleasant View Road for manufacturing methamphetamine. Trooper McPherson transported Mr. Crawford to the Hopkins County Detention Center; however, the detention center would not take Mr. Crawford until he was medically cleared due to burns on his hands and face. Trooper McPherson then transported Mr. Crawford to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for treatment of the burns. At approximately 4:21 a.m. CST, Mr. Crawford walked away from the Regional Medical Center and has not been located.

Wanted for Escape 2nd Degree (Class D Felony) is:

John Michael Crawford/Age: 37/Sex: M/Race: W

Height: 5'9" / Weight: 200 / Hair: Brown / Eyes: Brown

Mr. Crawford was last seen wearing a blue, fleece pullover and blue jeans. He has burns to his left hand, face, and lips. If you come into contact with Mr. Crawford, do not try to apprehend him.
