One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on KY 139

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Laura Shearin, age 20 of Princeton, Ky., was operating a 2000 Honda Accord southbound on KY 139 when she glanced at her cell phone. She lost control of the vehicle and overcorrected. The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a fence. It overturned and came to rest on its driver's side off the roadway. Ms. Shearin was transported by ambulance to the Caldwell Medical Center where she was treated and released. She was wearing a seat belt. Ms. Shearin was cited to court for No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, and Failure to Notify Department of Transportation of Address Change. Trooper Chris King investigated the crash that occurred on January 5, 2010 at approximately 11:20 a.m. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Department, Farmersville Fire Department, Princeton Fire Department, and Caldwell County EMS assisted at the scene.
