Six Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Bessie Weatherford, age 28 of Elkton, Ky., was operating a 2010 Pontiac Grand Am on KY 106 (Sharon Grove Road). She was attempting to make a left turn onto KY 106 (Blue and Gray Park Road). Jessica Kemp, age 22 of Russellville, Ky., was operating a 2009 Chrysler Sebring northeast on KY 171 (Sharon Grove Road). It appears that Bessie Weatherford turned into the path of Jessica Kemp and their vehicles struck head-on.

Bessie Weatherford and her three passengers, Joseph Wukish Jr. age 1, Destiny Wukish age 2, and Datona Wukish age 4, all of Elkton, Ky, were transported by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center where they were treated and released. Jessica Kemp and her passenger, Adilyn Weatherford, age 1 of Russellville, Ky, were transported by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center where they were treated and released. Bessie Weatherford was cited to court for no insurance and no registration. All subjects involved were using restraints.

Trooper Jeffrey Ayres investigated the crash that occurred on January 4, 2010 at approximately 4:26 p.m. Todd County Rescue & EMS assisted at the scene.
