Injury collision on US 641 North in Calloway County

Date of News Release: 11/18/2010

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Jack H. Freeman was traveling north on US 641 North when he attempted to turn left onto Highway 80 West. The traffic light was flashing yellow when Mr. Freeman misjudged the speed of Joann Farmer's vehicle and turned into her path. Ms. Farmer was traveling south on US 641 North in the left lane and was unable to avoid a collision with Mr. Freeman. The Farmer vehicle struck the Freeman vehicle in the front passenger side causing him to come to final rest in the eastbound lane of Highway 80 West. After the Farmer vehicle struck the Freeman vehicle, it traveled into the rear driver's side of the Amie L. Lyons vehicle and then struck the front of the Misty L. Thorn vehicle, coming to final rest. Amie L. Lyons and Misty L. Thorn were in the left turning lane of Highway 80 West waiting to turn northbound onto US 641 North. Ms. Farmer was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for injuring sustained in the collision. Trooper Ward was assisted on the scene by Trooper Trevor Pervine, Trooper Trey Green, Trooper Steve Humphreys, Murray-Calloway County EMS, and The Murray Fire Department.
