Calloway County Man Arrested for Computer Sex Crimes

(Murray, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, November 9, Kentucky State Police arrested a Murray Man for multiple electronic sex crimes. Mark A. Manners, 45, was arrested at his home on Peggy Ann Drive in Calloway County after a State Police investigation revealed he was engaging in illegal activity online. In October, detectives received information from the Lake County, Florida Sheriff's Office that Mark Manners had been communicating through a computer with a female juvenile there on multiple occasions. Kentucky State Police detectives continued the investigation and executed a search warrant on Manners home on Tuesday. Electronic devices and other computer-related evidence was seized by detectives to be examined. Manners was arrested at the home and charged with the following:

  • Unlawful Use of Electronic Means Originating in the Commonwealth to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual or Other Prohibited Activities (Class D Felony)
  • Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Minor (Class C Felony)
  • Distribution of Obscene Matter to a Minor (Class A Misdemeanor)

Manners was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center. Kentucky State Police was assisted in the investigation and arrest by the Murray Police Department and Kentucky State Police Electronic Crimes Branch. The investigation is continuing by Detective Michelle Kent and Detective John Sims with the Kentucky State Police.
