One Injured in a single vehicle collision on I-24

Date of News Release: 10/31/2010

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Mr. Donald Kellog was operating a tractor trailer eastbound on Interstate 24 near the 43MM in Lyon County when he left the roadway. The truck and trailer went through the guardrail face and down an embankment before coming to final rest on Port Authority Road. The 44,000 pounds of food-grade lactose spilled from the trailer and onto the roadway. Mr. Kellog advised he wasn't feeling well and may have passed out while operating the truck. Mr. Kellog was transported to the Caldwell County Hospital for a minor head injury and further evaluation. Port Authority Road will remain closed for several hours while clean up operations continue. Trooper Dodd was assisted on scene by Lyon County Rescue, Eddyville and Kuttawa Fire, Lyon County EMS, Lyon County Sheriff's Department and Eddyville Police Department.
