Drug Arrest Made During Traffic Stop in Trigg County

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Mr. Jason Scott Fite was stopped on I-24 for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a canine unit from the Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement alerted on Mr. Fite's vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, Trooper's located two heat sealed bags of marijuana weighing approximately 1/2 pound, 39 valium pills and a 9 MM semi-automatic pistol. Mr. Fite was arrested and charged with: Operating on a Suspended Drivers License, Failure to Produce an Insurance Card, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug, Trafficking Marijuana Over 8 OZ, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. Mr. Fite was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by Trooper T.J. Williams.
