Date of News Release: 09/14/2010
(Murray, Ky.) -- A Murray man is in critical condition after a two vehicle collision on KY 121 south of Murray this morning. Kentucky State Police were dispatched to the collision just before 7:00 AM on KY 121 near the intersection of Old Salem Road in Calloway County. Preliminary investigation indicates that a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix, operated by 34-year-old Robert Coleman, was traveling south on KY 121. For reasons unknown, Coleman's vehicle collided with the rear of a 1990 International Dump Truck hauling dirt. The dump truck, operated by 49-year-old Edward Harcourt had recently pulled out of Old Salem Church road and was moving slowly at the time of the collision. Robert Coleman sustained serious injuries in the collision and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Harcourt was uninjured. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, Murray Fire Department, Murray/Calloway EMS, and Calloway Co. DES/Rescue. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Stephen Humphreys and Master Trooper Christopher Anderson with the Kentucky State Police.
