One Killed and One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on KY 70

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Mr. Austin G. Crouch was west bound on KY 70 and Mr. Billy J. Mitchell was east bound. Mr. Crouch crossed the center line and struck the drivers side of the vehicle driven by Mr. Mitchell. The vehicle driven by Mr. Crouch then overturned and came to final rest in the east bound lane. Mr. Crouch was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston County Coroner, Jeff Armstrong. The passenger in Mr. Crouch's (Jody M. Rogers), vehicle was transported to Western Baptist Hospital where he was treated and released.

Mr. Mitchell was cited for Violation of Part 391 of the Federal Safety Regulation for no medical card and Violation of Part 396 of the Federal Safety Regulation for not having a periodic inspection. Trooper Williams was assisted at the scene by Grand Lakes Fire Department, Smithland Fire Department, Livingston County Sheriff's Department, State Highway Department, CVE, and Collision Reconstructionist Master Trooper Chris Anderson. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
