Post One 2010 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post One, is now accepting applications for the 2010 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin on September 27th and conclude November 29th. Students will meet Mondays from 5:30 to 8:30 where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.
The Academy's first week will be held at the Kentucky State Police Post on Highway 45 in Hickory. The following nine weeks of the academy will be held at the Marshall County Extension Services meeting room located at 1933 Mayfield Hwy in Benton. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post One at 270-856-3721. Applications can also be obtained by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post1.htm. Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post One district is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend. Class size will be limited to the first 25 approved applications.
