Correctional Officer Charged by Kentucky State Police

(Eddyville, Ky.) -- A Kentucky Department of Corrections employee was arrested on Wednesday and charged with promoting contraband 1st degree. On Wednesday, June 2nd, Kentucky State Police were contacted by the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville, Kentucky. State Police were asked to investigate a guard who was found to have in his possession Xanax and Lortab pills while on duty. The pills were located during a random search of employees during the afternoon shift change at the facility. After a state police investigation, 58-year-old Billy Finley of Kuttawa was charged with promoting contraband 1st degree, a class D felony. Finley, a five year employee of the Kentucky State Penitentiary, was lodged at the Caldwell County Detention Center. The investigation was conducted by Detective Brett Miller with the Kentucky State Police.
