KSP Post 1 Trooper Receives Award

(Hickory, Ky.) -- On May 5th, Trooper Brad Ramsey was recognized for being the Kentucky State Police, Mayfield Post, Trooper of the Year. Trooper Ramsey was honored at the Kentucky State Police annual awards ceremony in Louisville this past Wednesday. Trooper Ramsey, 28, is a six-year veteran of the agency and a native of Madisonville, Kentucky. While serving at the Mayfield Post, Trooper Ramsey has been assigned to Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, and McCracken counties. During 2009, Trooper Ramsey worked over 2,000 hours, issuing 1,068 citations. Ramsey arrested 58 impaired drivers, and opened 49 criminal investigations resulting in 113 criminal arrests. During his tenure with the Kentucky State Police, Trooper Ramsey has maintained a positive and pro-active work ethic which has assisted him in becoming a well-rounded public servant. "Trooper Ramsey is a very proud employee, who constantly strives to uphold the mission of this agency", states Captain Nathan Kent, commander of Kentucky State Police, Mayfield Post. "Trooper Ramsey is a very dependable unit who is called upon to work a variety of shifts and details. He maintains a positive attitude and an excellent working relationship with other agencies. He can always be counted on to be fair and impartial in enforcing the laws of the Commonwealth."
