Cultivation of Marijuana over 5 Plants Investigation

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- Trooper Williams received a call from Deputy Glendening of the Livingston County Sheriff Department regarding a boat that was seen leaving the boat ramp at Pinckneyville with one male and then 10 minutes later it was seen floating down the river without the male. Upon arrival in plain view, officers observed 6 marijuana plants in the boat. The Livingston County Rescue Squad was notified for fear that the subject had fallen into the river. The subject was located a few minutes later walking down the riverbank. After an interview, he was arrested and agreed to take officers to a location where he had planted 34 other marijuana plants. Rodger D. Swaggirt was arrested and charged with Cultivating Marijuana Over 5 Plants, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st and he was lodged into the McCracken County Jail.
