Theft of Anhydrous Ammonia Investigation and Arrest

(Hardin, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police, Post 01, received information from the Marshall County Sheriff's Department regarding the possible theft of anhydrous ammonia at Crop Production Services in Hardin. Trooper Trey Green responded to the area to search for the suspect(s). Trooper Green observed a male walking on Union Hill Road that matched the description given of one of the suspects. Trooper Green was speaking with the suspect when Deputy Samantha Mighell arrived on scene. Deputy Mighell observed a container on the ground and as she approached the container, she was exposed to the vapors from the anhydrous ammonia. Trooper Green notified Marshall County EMS to respond to provide medical assistance to Deputy Mighell. Deputy Mighell was transported to the Marshall County Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released. Danny Gipson was arrested by Trooper Green and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. Mr. Gipson is charged with Receiving Stolen Property- Anhydrous Ammonia with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine 1st, Tampering with Anhydrous Ammonia with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine 1st, Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia not in an Approved Container with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine 1st, Alcohol Intoxication 1st, and Wanton Endangerment 1st. The investigation continues by Trooper Green.
