DUI Collision and Arrest in Hickman County

(Clinton, Ky.) -- A Clinton man was jailed early Saturday morning after being involved in a vehicle collision with the patrol vehicle of Hickman County Sheriff, John Turner. Just before 2:00 AM on Saturday, Sheriff Turner was working outside of his vehicle near the intersection of KY 307 and KY 288. A Pontiac Grand Prix operated by 55-year-old Edward Knox, topped a hill near the intersection and collided with Turner's parked patrol vehicle. Upon Kentucky State Police arrival, it was determined that Mr. Knox was under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Knox was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for minor injuries before being lodged in the Hickman County Detention Center. Mr. Knox was charged with DUI 2nd, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Open Alcohol Container in Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, and four counts of Wanton Endangerment. The collision is being investigated by Trooper Eric Fields with the Kentucky State Police.
