Overturned semi in Ohio County

Date of News Release: 12/22/2010

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Ronald Parker was traveling south on US 69, approximately three miles south of Centertown. For an unknown reason, Parker exited the right shoulder of the road where his 2009 Mack semi overturned. Mr. Parker, who works for Memsco Trucking in Evansville Indiana, was hauling 48,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate / fuel oil mixture. The cargo was to be delivered to Armstrong Boot Mine in Cronos, Ky. The roadway was shutdown and five residences were voluntarily evacuated.

Mr. Parker was transported to Owensboro Medical Hospital for multiple injuries.

North and southbound lanes of US 69 were shut down for over 6.5 hours while personnel clean-up the collision site.

The investigation continues.
