3 Vehicle Injury Collision on US-231

Vehicle Collision

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Tony Gonzalez-Parral was operating a 2000 Ford F-150. Leeanne Rodrigues was operating a 1997 Dodge Dakota. Melanie Ford was operating a 1998 Mazda 626. All three vehicles were southbound on US-231 in Beaver Dam. Ford was stopped at a red light and Rodrigues was slowing to a stop for the same red light. Gonzalez-Parral failed to realize vehicles were stopping. Gonzalez-Parral struck the rear of Rodrigues' vehicle forcing it into Ford's vehicle. All three vehicles suffered severe damage and were unable to be driven from the scene. After the collision Gonzalez-Parral fled the scene on foot. A witness to the accident followed Gonzalez-Parral and detained him in a near-by parking lot until police could arrive and take him into custody. Gonzalez-Parral was arrested and charged with No Operator's License, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, DUI 1st (aggravating circumstance), Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Assault 2nd Degree. Gonzalez-Parral was lodged in the Ohio County Jail.
