"Take Back" Yields Large Numbers

Date of News Release: 09/25/2010

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Troopers at the Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson will consider the national drug "Take Back" program as a huge success. The Post 16 location received over 140 pounds of expired or unused prescription medications. Nearly ten large boxes were packaged and shipped off to the DEA for disposal. To say this program was a success is an understatement. In fact, the amount of people dropping off their unused drugs has exceeded our expectations.

This program helped those who wanted to rid their homes of expired or unused prescription medications. However, it also served as another means of keeping drugs out of the hands of those who may abuse them.
