Fire Investigation in Sturgis, Ky

(Henderson, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson is working in tandem with the state's Fire Marshal to determine the cause of the multiple structure fire in Sturgis (Union County), KY. Union County 911 received the call at 0215 a.m. this date in reference to a structure on fire at N. Washington Street in Sturgis. The fire consumed a total of six structures. Of the six structures, four were houses (one being occupied) and two garages. Furthermore, two vehicles were destroyed by the fire.

A Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator and the state's Fire Marshal are in the process of determining the structure of origin.

Sturgis Fire Department was assisted by Sullivan Fire Department, Henshaw, Union County, Whispering Meadows, Wheatcroft, Clay, Dixon, Morganfield, Webster County Ladder, Union County Sheriff's Department and Sturgis Police Department.
