Update to the Criminal Arrest in Union County

(Henderson, Ky.) --On March 2nd James Matthew was indicted by Union County Grand Jury. He was then charged with the following charges: Murder, 1st Degree Persistent Felony Offender, Tampering with Physical Evidence, 2 counts of Rape 1st, 1 count of Rape 1st with Serious Physical Injury, 3 counts of Sodomy 1st Degree, and 2 counts of Sodomy with Serious Physical Injury.

(Henderson, Ky.) -- On Saturday, February 13, 2010 the victim, Mary Reyes, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital from injuries she sustained after being physically assaulted. The case will be presented to Grand Jury on March 2nd for the Charge of Murder.

(Henderson, Ky.) -- On Sunday 01-17-10 at 10:05 a.m. the Kentucky State Police received a call for assistance at a residence in the Whispering Meadows subdivision in Morganfield. The caller stated that a female, Mary Reyes, was at the residence unconscious and unresponsive. Trooper Carver and E.M.S. personnel arrived and a Life Flight helicopter was summoned to the scene. The victim was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN. where she is in serious condition. The victim, 29 years of age, is suffering from numerous injuries after having been physically assaulted. On Monday 01-18-10 investigators located her boyfriend, James Matthew Hedgepath and he was subsequently arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree & lodged into the Union County Jail.
