McLean County Drug Arrest

(Henderson, Ky.) -- On February 18, 2010, the Kentucky State Police and McLean County Sheriff's Office served three search warrants in Livermore, Sacramento and Island. Two methamphetamine labs were dismantled and multiple drug arrests were made.

Around 1300 hours (1:00 p.m.), the McLean County Sheriff's Office, working on an anonymous tip, obtained a search warrant at the 400 block of West Sixth Street in Livermore. Deputies located and dismantled a methamphetamine lab and seized a multitude of drug paraphernalia.

Charged:

  1. Jeffery E. Abel ~ Livermore, KY ~ 40 Years old.
    • Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1 st Offense.
  2. Kathy L. Ray ~ Livermore, KY ~ 44 Years old.
    • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (methamphetamine)
    • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense.

Both were lodged in the Ohio County Jail in Hartford.

On the other side of the county, the Kentucky State Police were following an investigation which led detectives to secure a search warrant at 45 Stringer Road in Sacramento. KSP Troopers and McLean County Sheriff Deputies executed said warrant at 1745 hours (5:45 p.m.) and located a significant amount of processed methamphetamine.

Charged:

  1. Randall F. Thomas ~ Sacramento, KY ~ 54 years old.
    • Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine) X 4.
    • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
    • Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree.

Thomas was lodged in the Ohio County Jail in Hartford.

Acting on another tip, Kentucky State Police Detectives; McLean County Sheriff Deputies and Owensboro Police Department secured a third search warrant at 2345 hours (11:45 hours) at the 200 block of School Street in Island. Detectives located another methamphetamine lab; drug paraphernalia and anhydrous ammonia. KSP detectives properly dismantled and processed the active methamphetamine lab while sheriff deputies arrested the accused.

  1. Roger O. Sapp ~ Island, KY ~ 45 years old.
    • Manufacturing Methamphetamines 1st degree.
    • Possession of Controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine)
    • Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine)
    • Knowingly Possess Anhydrous Ammonia in Unapproved Container with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine.
    • Drug Possession 1st degree.
  2. Tonja L. Sapp ~ Island, KY ~ 40 years old.
    • Manufacturing Methamphetamines 1st degree.
    • Possession of Controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine)
    • Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine)
    • Knowingly Possess Anhydrous Ammonia in Unapproved Container with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine.
    • Drug Possession 1st degree.

Both were lodged in the Ohio County Jail in Hartford.
