Cumberland County Fatal

(Cumberland County, Ky.) -- Trooper Dewayne Holder is investigating a three vehicle fatal collision that occurred Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in Cumberland County at 6:35 p.m. CST. Joseph C. Davidson, age 24 of Burkesville, was traveling west on KY highway 90 operating a 1999 Nissan pick-up and attempted to pass a vehicle. Davidson's vehicle struck an East bound 2000 Ford Taurus operated by Misti V. Kemp, age 32 of Jamestown, head on. Kemp, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Cumberland County Coroner Gary White.

A passenger in the Kemp vehicle, Adam Wilburn, age 49 of Burkesville, was not wearing a seat belt and was flown to the Vanderbilt University Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. A second passenger in the Kemp vehicle, three month old Kylie Kemp of Burkesville, was not in a child restraint and was also flown to Vanderbilt University Hospital for treatment. Her condition is unavailable at this time.

After the initial collision, the Davidson vehicle, re-entered the westbound lane and struck a 2008 Chevy Malibu being operated by Jon E. Frederick, age 65 of Burkesville. Frederick who was belted was transported to the Cumberland County Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Davidson, who was not belted, was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries.

Trooper Holder was assisted at the scene by Trooper Tracy Haynes, Burkesville Fire and Rescue, Clinton County Fire and Rescue, Clinton County EMS, Cumberland County EMS, Cumberland County Sheriff's office, Burkesville Police Department and the State Highway Department. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Holder.
