One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on Mays Chapel Road

(Marion County, Ky.) -- Trooper Brian Coyt is investigating a collision which occurred 05/19/2010 at 11:41 hours, 5 miles east of Lebanon on Mays Chapel Road. The collision occurred when Roy McElroy, age 29, of Lebanon, was operating his 2005 Ford, traveling northbound on Mays Chapel Road and swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, dropped off the shoulder of the roadway, overcorrected and struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn three times before coming to final rest. McElroy was belted at the time of the collision and was transported to the Spring View Hospital for injuries he sustained in the collision. Trooper Coyt was assisted at the scene by members of the Gravel Switch Fire Department and Marion County EMS.
