Update to shooting leaves man in stable condition

(Columbia, Ky.) -- On Monday, May 10 at 9:32 EDT, 47-year-old Douglas J. Hutchins of St Francis, KY was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 2nd degree 1st offense, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree 1st offense, Prescription Drugs not in Proper Container, Cultivating Marijuana over 5 Plants, Trafficking in Marijuana over 8 ounces and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st.

During the course of the shooting investigation, miscellaneous drugs and paraphernalia were discovered at Hutchins residence which led to his arrest. Hutchins is a suspect in the shooting that will be presented to the Marion County Grand Jury at a later date.

Date of News Release: 05/10/2010

(Columbia, Ky.) -- Troopers and Detectives from Post 15 are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 3:07 EDT in the St Francis and New Hope areas of Marion and Nelson County. 26-year-old Michael Chad Greenwell sustained injuries (unspecified) and was transported from a residence on New Hope Road in Nelson County to the New Hope Fire Department where he was then flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Louisville. He remains in stable condition. At this time, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Marion and Nelson County Sheriff's Departments are assisting.
