Arrest Made After a Lengthy Pursuit in Adair County

(Columbia, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Columbia arrest a Clinton County man after a lengthy pursuit in Adair County. Trooper Jamie Richard observed a male subject outside his vehicle on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway. Trooper Richard returned to see if the man needed any assistance at which time the man jumped back into his vehicle and fled.

Trooper Richard pursued the vehicle on the Parkway during which the vehicle crossed the median several times in an attempt to elude Trooper Richard. The suspect then exited the Parkway on KY 61 heading toward Burkesville. On KY 61 a Trooper deployed a tire deflation device which flattened all four of the vehicles tires. The subject then fled on foot but was soon apprehended in a field. The suspect was identified as Brandon Edward Bowie, age 26 of Albany. Bowie was charged with driving under the influence aggravated circumstances and numerous traffic and criminal offenses. A criminal charge of Wanton Endangerment was added after Troopers located a small child still sleeping in his car seat inside the vehicle. Bowie was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail and the child was released to Social Services in Adair County and later turned over to the mother.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Adair County Sheriff's Department, the Columbia City Police, and Russell County Sheriff's Department.
