Three Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on KY 80

(Columbia, Ky.) -- Trooper Bradly Stotts is investigating a collision that occurred at 5:35pm on East KY 80. Merlin Huff, age 45 of Columbia was operating a 2004 Blue Dodge pickup Westbound on KY80, when he dropped of the right shoulder of the road, negotiated out of a ditch, and struck a 2006 red Dodge Pickup operated by Teddy Cain age 45 of Russell Springs, in the rear. Mr. Cain subsequently left the left side of the roadway striking a rock ledge before coming to a final rest in the westbound lane. Merlin Huff was not belted and was transported by EMS to the Russell County Hospital, and then transported to UK for treatment. Teddy Cain as well as a passenger Vicky Cain age 45 of Russell Springs both belted, were transported to Westlake Regional Hospital and then to U of L. Trooper Stotts was assisted at the scene by Trooper Kenny Perkins, Deputy Aaron Rainwater, Adair and Russell County fire and EMS.
