Multi Agency Investigation Leads to Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Property

(Columbia, Ky.) -- On Thursday, February 25th, The Kentucky State Police Vehicle Investigations Branch concluded a 3 month investigation into stolen property being shipped into KY from Tennessee. Investigators were led to a residence at 976 Rooks Denton Road in Adair County where they recovered approximately $200,000.00 worth of property that included tractors, trailers, construction equipment and an undisclosed amount of cash. 45-year-old Stephen Rooks of Russell Springs, KY was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property over $10,000.00 and seven counts of Felony Obscuring the Identity of a Machine. Denton was lodged in the Adair County Jail. KSP units from Post 15, DESI West and Special Operations K-9 section assisted. Other agencies involved were the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Sumner and Cheatham County Tennessee Sheriff’s Departments and the Hendersonville Tennessee Police Department. KSP Detective Dathan Tarrence is continuing the investigation and more charges are pending.
