Murder/Domestic Violence Investigation and Arrest

(Greensburg, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police have arrested 34-year-old Jennifer Hatcher of Campbellsville and charged her with Murder/Domestic Violence. On Thursday, January 14th at 6:18 PM CST, Post 15 received a call from Green County dispatch advising that Jennifer Hatcher had stabbed and killed her husband Jeff Adkins. Troopers and Detectives responded to a remote area on R.W. Thompson Road in Green County and found that the incident had occurred in a vehicle that had been stopped in the roadway. The vehicle belonged to a family member. Mr. Adkins was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County Coroner.

An autopsy was performed today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville. Preliminary results indicate that Jeff Adkins died from multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck area. Jennifer Hatcher is being held in the Taylor County Detention Center. Detective Andy Olson is investigating. The Green County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement units, Greensburg Police Department and Green County EMS assisted.
