An Ironton, Ohio resident arrested on theft charges

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested an Ironton, Ohio resident for theft charges after he was suspected of stealing medicine from the medication dispensing machine at three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, KY. The thefts occurred between October and November 2010. Phillip Barker, age 37, was employed as a nurse at Three Rivers before was arrested by Kentucky State Police for 140 counts of Theft of a Controlled Substance (Class D felony). Barker was arrested on 11-10-2010.

Additional charges may be pending and the case remains under investigation by Trooper Jack Hedges. Barker remains lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Jail.
