Escapee Arrested in Ashland, Ky

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested a suspect that escaped from the TRANSITIONS Inc. on 29th Street Ashland, KY around 0200 hours on 11-9-2010.Antonio Simpson Antonio Simpson, age 34, originally from Louisville, KY walked away from the Transitions Inc facility but returned around 0600 hours the same morning. Trooper Kris Kirk responded to the facility after he was notified by Transitions Director Roger Burge about Mr. Simpson's departure and return to the facility. Trooper Kirk obtained a warrant for Simpson and he was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.

The investigation revealed Simpson left the facility without permission in order to visit an acquaintance.

Transitions Inc is a state half-way house/correctional facility located near the junction of 29th Street and Winchester Avenue in Ashland, KY.

Simpson was charged with one count of Escape 2nd Degree (Felony) and remains lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
