Rash of Burglaries in Post 14 Area

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police is currently investigating a series of residential burglaries that occurred on 10-11-2010 in the Post 14 area of Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties. The burglaries, which do not appear to be related, occurred in Carter, Boyd, and Greenup Counties. The times of the thefts appear to be sporadic but mainly in the evening hours. The areas of the burglaries are: Boyd: Tipton Ross Road (Catlettsburg); Greenup: Whetstone Road; and Carter: Navajo Trail and State Highway 486.

As the holiday season approaches, residents are asked to keep a watchful eye for any suspicious activity to include any strange vehicles patrolling around their homes, especially during the evening hours. Residents are also asked to report any suspicious activity to the Kentucky State Police at 606-928-6421. Callers may remain anonymous.
