Two Killed in a Single Vehicle Collision on KY 1947

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating a single vehicle double fatality collision that occurred on KY 1947 around 1:326 PM yesterday afternoon (19th). Richard Everman, age 86 of Olive Hill, KY was operating a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix and was traveling East on KY 1947. The passenger in the vehicle was Richard's spouse- Kathleen Everman age 85 also of Olive Hill, KY. Everman lost control of his vehicle and struck an earth embankment causing the vehicle to overturn.

Kathleen Everman was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jason Duvall. Richard Everman was flown to Cabell County Hospital but later died as a result of his injuries. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the collision. The cause of the collision is under investigation by Trooper Brad Wiley.
