Update to the Arson (Church Fire) Investigation

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is continuing their investigation into the church fire that occurred on 06-24-2010. This case will be presented to the Carter County Grand Jury in mid-July 2010. No other details are available at this time. Jeremy Perry is still lodged in the Carter County Detention Center.

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested a Carter County resident following an arson investigation at the Rose Ridge Apostolic Church on Rose Ridge in Olive Hill, KY. Jeremy Perry, age 32 of Rose Ridge Olive Hill, KY was arrested and charged with one count of Receiving Stolen Property (Misdemeanor) following the investigation into the cause of the fire. The church fire started around 0300 a.m. this morning and believed to have been set intentionally. Several fire departments responded to a church that was fully engulfed in flames.
A witness reported to Kentucky State Police Arson investigator that Perry had two guitars in his possession that was believed to have been taken from the church. Perry was later located at his residence with the guitars in his possession and subsequently charged. Perry is considered a suspect in the arson and the burglary but no charges have been filed at this time. Additional charges are pending.
The investigation is continuing by Detective Rodney Carroll of the Kentucky State Police.
