Suspect Apprehended in Lawrence County Shooting

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is continuing their investigation into two separate shootings that occurred just after midnight this morning on Fullers Ridge and near Fallsburg grocery store in Lawrence County.
Jimmy Levering, age 28 of Louisa, KY was apprehended by Kentucky State Police Special Response Team (SRT) at 2:20 pm this date. Levering was located hiding in the woods near Delong Branch in the Fallsburg area of Lawrence County. SRT members located Levering and after a short negotiation, apprehended the suspect without incident. Levering’s vehicle was also located in the woods close to where Levering was apprehended.
Names of the three shooting victims are as follows:
Ronald Young age 44 of Fuller Ridge Fallsburg, KY (friends of suspect)
Sherry Smith age 48 of Fuller Ridge Fallsburg, KY (friends of suspect)
Wilma Levering age 29 of Louisa, KY (Spouse of suspect)
Ronald Young and Sherry Smith was boyfriend-girlfriend and lived together at the residence on Fuller Ridge where the initial shooting took place. Jimmy and Wilma Levering had been staying with Young and Smith. The shooting occurred inside the residence.
Jimmy and Wilma Levering departed this residence and Jimmy later shot Wilma Levering in the couple's vehicle while travelling near the junction of KY 3398 and Delong Branch. Wilma managed to get out of the vehicle and called 911 at the Fallsburg grocery.
Detectives are processing the scene where the suspect was located and continuing their investigation to determine motive.
Sherry Smith was pronounced dead at ST Mary's hospital in Huntington, WV.
Jimmy levering is charged with 1 count of Murder, 2 counts of Assault 1st Degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking (Auto), and Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon. Levering will be transported to the Big Sandy Regional Jail.

Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is conducting an investigation into two separate shootings that occurred just after midnight this morning on Fullers Ridge and near Fallsburg grocery store in Lawrence County. Identities of the victims are unavailable at this time but two victims were females and one male victim. Kentucky State Police is currently attempting to locate the suspect involved in the shooting. The suspect was last seen around 0400 AM in a 2002 Red Jeep Wrangler with possible front end damage. The vehicle has a Kentucky registration of 203-ERG. The suspects name is 28 year old Jimmy Levering (white male) of Louisa, KY. ** Suspect should be considered armed and dangerous**
Suspect (Jimmy Levering) was last seen in the Fallsburg area on foot possible hiding in the woods. Suspect is wearing blue jeans and a red-checkered flannel shirt. Suspect should still be considered armed and dangerous.
