Felony Drug Arrests in Carter County

(Ashland, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police in Ashland is continuing their investigation following two felony drug related arrests early this morning. Billy Tackett and Lauretta Barker (just recently married) were arrested at their residence after Troopers executed a search warrant of their residence on Square Lick Road in Olive Hill, KY. Earlier in the evening, Trooper Blake Frasure had received information from a confidential source which led to obtaining a search warrant. Authorities located several pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, numerous controlled prescription medication (pills), an undisclosed amount of cash, and two firearms from inside the residence of Barker and Tackett. Trooper Shawn Podunavac and his K-9 were also used during the execution of the search warrant.

Both suspects were lodged in the Carter County Detention Center.
