Remains Found in a Breathitt County Residential Fire

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On October 22, 2010 Kentucky State Police received a call from the Jackson Police Department requesting assistance at the scene of a residential structure fire in the City of Jackson in Breathitt County.

The Jackson Fire Department located human remains in the residence, which are believed to be that of 78 year old Ruth Knarr of Jackson, Ky. The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort to determine the cause of death and positive identification. No foul play is suspected and the investigation is continuing by Det. Clayton Stamper, Arson Investigator James Burnett and the State Fire Marshall's Office.
