Update to the Perry County Death Investigation

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On October 3, 2010 at approximately 03:30a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 13 at Hazard received an assault complaint on Montgomery Creek in the Vicco community of Perry County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a party had taken place in a remote area on top of the mountain. Several people had gathered and an altercation had occurred. One of the individuals present was 45 year old Julius Edward Williams of Vicco, Ky. Family members called State Police to report that Julius had not returned home and wanted to report him as a missing person. A missing person investigation began and shortly afterwards the deceased body of Mr. Williams was located in a weeded area near the altercation scene. The victim was pronounced deceased by the Perry County Corner and the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. State Police are asking anyone with information about the party or death of Julius Edward Williams to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 13 at (606) 435-6069 or 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state). The caller may remain anonymous. The investigation is continuing by Det. Chris Collins.

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On 10/03/2010 KSP Post 13 Hazard received a call of assault complaint in the Montgomery Creek Community of Vicco, Ky. Troopers arrived and starting information, the troopers where unable to locate Julius Williams. Shortly after daylight troopers met with family members to complete a missing person report on Julius Williams. While gather information for the report Post 13 received a call stating that a male subject had been located deceased in the area Julius Williams was last seen. Investigation continues into the death of Mr. Williams. Anyone with any information please contact KSP Post 13 Hazard.
