2 Arrests in Knott County Burglaries

Date of News Release: 09/20/2010

(Hazard, Ky.) -- Troopers and Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard arrested 2 suspects today and charged them with multiple felonies. The arrests resulted from an ongoing investigation into recent burglaries targeting vending machines located in various Knott County School buildings. These thefts resulted in damages exceeding $5000.00 (five thousand dollars).

Acting on information received, Detective Chris Collins, made an arrest on 19 year old, Jordan Bentley and Eddie Combs, 20 years old, both of Leburn. They were charged with 3 counts each of Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and 1 count each of Theft by Unlawful Taking.

The two were lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard. Detective Collins and Troopers Jody Sims and Justin Cornett are continuing the investigation.
