Two Killed in an ATV Collision on Highway 28

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On June 21st 2010 at 10:51 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard responded to an ATV accident on Highway 28 in the Morris Fork Community of Breathitt County. A Polaris ATV driven by Randell Turner of Booneville lost control and struck a utility pole . A passenger Samuel Riley of Buckhorn received fatal injuries. The driver came into contact with downed power lines and was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson where he was later pronounced deceased. Kelly Stamper of Booneville who was not involved in collision also came into contact with downed power lines on the scene and was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Loren Holliday with the Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard.
