Cocaine Recovered from Traffic Stop in Knott County

(Litt Carr, Ky.) -- On June 10, 2010 at approximately 8:30 pm Troopers Ronnie Long and James Sandlin along with Knott County Deputy Bobby Jacobs initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on KY Hwy 160 in the Litt Carr community of Knott County. Prior to stopping the vehicle, the operator threw a baggie of suspected cocaine out of the window of the vehicle. The baggie went over a bridge and into Carr Fork Lake. The baggie was recovered from the lake and contained approximately ½ ounce of suspected cocaine. The amount of cocaine has a street value of approximately $1,400. The operator of the vehicle, Michael Naegele, 44, of Knott County was arrested at the scene. Naegele is charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and other various traffic charges. The incident is still under investigation by KY State Police.
