Update to the Three killed in a collision on I-64 in Franklin County

Date of News Release: 11/30/2010

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort received a call of a one vehicle accident on I-64 West bound at the 50 mile marker in Franklin Co. Upon arrival they discovered three individuals had suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The operator, Nicholas Bryer age 70 of Monmouth, NJ was westbound on Interstate 64 when he ran off the north side of the roadway into the grass. Evidence at the scene reflects he overcorrected traveling back across both lanes of I-64, off the roadway into a clump of trees. No indicators of alcohol/drug use as factors in this crash were visible. Mr. Bryer was wearing his seatbelt however the passenger (Dana Weber, age 18 of Monmouth, NJ) was not belted at the time of the crash. The infant (Avory Weber of Monmouth, NJ) was in a car seat. The investigation continues by the Kentucky State Police Accident Reconstruction team. Post 12 was assisted at the scene by the Franklin County Fire Department, Franklin Co. Sheriff's Dept., Transportation Cabinet workers, and the Franklin County Coroner's Office.

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On 11/29/2010 the Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort received a call of a one vehicle accident on I-64 West bound at the 50 mile marker in Franklin Co. Upon arrival they discovered three individuals had suffered fatal injuries in the crash. It is unclear at this time what may have caused the accident and it is still under investigation. The victims' names are not being released until family members are notified. Post 12 will release more information as it becomes available.
