Louisville Man Arrested after a Pursuit in a Stolen Vehicle

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On Thursday morning, November 4, 2010 at 8:17 AM, TFC Hunter Martin was on patrol on I-64 in Shelby County when he attempted to stop a reported stolen vehicle on KY-395. The stolen vehicle, a Dodge Ram pick-up truck had been stolen in Jefferson County and was entered into NCIC. The operator of the truck refused to stop and began attempts to elude. The fleeing vehicle traveled on I-64 eastbound from exit 43 to exit 53. During the pursuit the fleeing vehicle passed other motorist in the emergency lanes and traveled at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. At exit 53 a Kentucky State Police Trooper was able to deploy a tire deflation device and successfully deflated the fleeing vehicle's tires. The fleeing vehicle continued, refusing to stop and traveled up an eastbound I-64 exit ramp the wrong way where he struck an on coming vehicle. No one was injured in either vehicle and the accused was taken into custody.

The driver Perry G. Mussdorf age 44, of Louisville, KY has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property ($10,000 or more), Wanton Endangerment 1st, Criminal Mischief 1st, Wanton Endangerment 1st (Police Officer), Speeding, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st, Improper Passing and Reckless Driving.

He also has been charged on some outstanding Jefferson County warrants for Receiving Stolen Property under $10,000, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st, and Wanton Endangerment 1st (Police Officer).
