Two Juveniles Taken Into Custody After Pursuit

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Phillip Robertson takes two juveniles into custody after a fifteen mile pursuit. On Monday, October 25, at 6:18 PM a pursuit began on northbound I-75 at the 126 mile marker in Scott County. Officer Robertson observed a possible DUI and ran the vehicle registration plate. The vehicle can back as stolen, Officer Robertson initiated his emergency equipment and the vehicle began fleeing. The vehicle exited at the 126 mile marker. During the pursuit the fleeing vehicle struck another vehicle and continued fleeing. The driver lost control at US-25 and KY-32 and wrecked. The driver next attempted to run over Officer Robertson and struck his police cruiser coming to final rest. The driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incidents.
The eluding vehicle was occupied by two juveniles. Both juveniles were taken to the Georgetown Community Hospital for precautionary reasons. Further investigation revealed that the juveniles were entered as missing from a group home in Albany, KY. They were released from the hospital and lodged in the Fayette County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
The juveniles have been charged with Fleeing and Evading, Reckless Driving, No Operators License, Wanton Endangerment 1st (6 counts) and Theft of Motor Vehicle. The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement was assisted by KSP Post 12, Sadieville PD and Scott County Sheriff's Office.
