Update on the Anderson County Homicide Investigation

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On September 21, 2010 the Anderson County Grand Jury indicted Gary M. Bancroft for Tampering with Physical Evidence and Murder. He was arrested on the indictment warrants by Kentucky State Police and he remains lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- The Kentucky State Police is investigating a homicide in Anderson County. On Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 12:41 PM the Lawrenceburg dispatch received a 911 call reporting a possible homicide. Troopers and Anderson County Deputy's arrived at a residence in the 4000 block of Bardstown Rd. (US-62). They arrived and were unable to make contact with anyone. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and a second attempt was made. Gary M. Bancroft, age 33 of Lawrenceburg was located at the residence and taken into custody. A deceased female was located inside the residence. Mr. Bancroft has been charged with murder and lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.
On Monday, September 6, 2010 the Medical Examiner Office identified the victim as Frances Renee Mobley, age 33, of Mt. Eden, KY. The Kentucky State Police investigation is continuing.
The homicide is believed to be domestic violence related. The Kentucky State Police is being assisted by the Anderson County Coroners Office and the Anderson County Sheriff's Department. The investigation is continuing.
