Three Year Old Dies In Franklin County Fatal Collision

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:45 PM, Post 12 Troopers were investigating an injury collision involving a DUI at the 53 mile marker on eastbound I-64. The interstate was closed so the wrecked vehicles and injured passenger could be removed. The driver of the first vehicle Laura M. Hubbard age 26 of Fort Thomas KY, was not injured. She was arrested and charged with DUI 1st offence and lodged in the Franklin County Jail. Passenger Bridget Courtney age 26 of Alexander KY, was not injured.

The second vehicle in this collision was being operated by Jennifer Wesley age 23 of Lexington, KY. There were three passengers in Mrs. Wesley's vehicle. First passenger Chloe Hollow age 19 of Tallahassee FL, was not injured. The second passenger Jessica Lester age 19 of Lexington, KY was injured and transported to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center Hospital in Frankfort, KY. Everyone in the second vehicle was wearing their seat belts.

At 12:53 AM on Friday, March 05, the second collision occurred on I-64. The first tractor and trailer was being operated by Catherine M. Stults age 49 of Missouri. The second tractor was being operated by Timothy S. Williams of Illinois.

The first tractor and trailer was stopped in traffic eastbound on I-64 at the 51 mile marker. The second tractor in trailer was traveling eastbound when it sideswiped the first tractor and trailer on the passenger side. The driver of the first tractor was entrapped and passenger Andrea Weatherspoon (age 3) was discovered deceased in the front passenger seat. The three year was belted in, but not riding in a child restraint seat.

Alcohol is not suspected in this second collision. The collisions are under investigations by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
