(London, Ky.) -- On Saturday December 11, 2010 at approximately 1:31 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London was notified that the Mount Vernon Police Department was involved in a vehicle pursuit traveling southbound on US 25 toward Laurel County.
The Mount Vernon Police were pursuing a black, 1998, Chevrolet, S-10 Blazer due to the driver refusing to comply with an officers signal to detour around the annual Christmas Parade, that was in progress, in downtown.

The suspect, identified as Timmy R. Coots, 38, of Smilax, KY, was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Alcohol usage is suspected and criminal charges are pending.
