Fatal Traffic Crash in Clay County

(London, Ky.) -- On Tuesday August 17, 2010 at 8:03 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London received a report of a single vehicle traffic crash, with injury, on Buzzard Road in Clay County.

Upon arrival Trooper Jeff Senters determined that a 1997, Chevrolet, Blazer operated by Stacey Bundy, 30, of Manchester, ran off the roadway, traveled down an embankment striking several trees and overturned.

The operator, who was seven months pregnant, and her passenger Edward Roark, Jr. were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

Both were taken to the Memorial Hospital in Manchester where Ms. Bundy and her unborn child were pronounced dead by the Clay County Coroner Jim Trosper. Roark was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No alcohol or drug usage suspected.

Trooper Senters is continuing the investigation and was assisted by officers of the KSP Division of CVE, the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the Clay County Coroner's Office and the Clay County EMS.
