"Click It or Ticket" Campaign Activity for Post 11, London

(London, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London, which serves the following counties: Clay, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley, is participating in the two week national "Click It or Ticket" campaign which runs from May 24 to June 6, 2010.

During the first week of the campaign (Monday, May 24 to Saturday, May 29, 2010) KSP Post 11 conducted 56 traffic safety checkpoints in the seven counties and issued a total of 2315 citations (tickets).

The following is a break down of citations (tickets) issued:

• 18 for DUI violations
• 491 for speeding violations
• 685 for Seat Belt violations
• 24 for Child Restraint violations
• 54 for Suspended Operator License violations
• 223 for No Insurance violations
• 820 for other traffic related violations

Other charges related to the campaign are:

• 10 fugitives were apprehended and 5 drug arrests were made.
