Fugitive Arrest in Laurel County

(London, Ky.) -- On Friday April 09, 2010 at 8:53 PM the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a request, from the Kokomo Indiana Police Department, to be on the lookout for a 2006 tan Chevrolet, Impala southbound on Interstate 75.

Trooper Michelle Lunsford and Trooper Fred Pennington began observing for the vehicle on the interstate at approximately 9 PM. Trooper Lunsford located the vehicle, at approximately 9:05 PM, as it exited the interstate at the 38 exit. Trooper Lunsford initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle entered the parking lot of Fazoli's.

Mr. Blanchard was wanted for Probation Violation in Indiana and for questioning in reference to a triple homicide in Kokomo, IN.

Trooper Lunsford arrested and charged Jeremy Blanchard, 30, of Gas City, IN with being a Fugitive from Justice.

Mr. Blanchard was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center pending extradition.

KSP Trooper Lunsford was assisted by KSP Trooper Fred Pennington, KSP Sergeant Steve Walker, KSP-CVE Officer Toby Curry and the London Police Department.
